Of course, I did something that I always warn everyone about and I advise against buying musical equipment without listening to it before. So I read very carefully what users of these monitors have to say and finally I decided to buy Neumanns. I could make a trip to London, where I could listen to them for sure but it was out of my time possibilities at this moment. Unfortunately it was not possible to listen other monitors like Focal Shape or Neumann KH120 anywhere in Scotland. I was still dissatisfied hearing bit boxy sound. Then I considered Adams A7X which played selectively and clearly but still I wasn't satisfied enough, cause Adams didn't give me desirable Wow effect. This issue also confirmed few users of Alphas on other music forums. I listened there: KRK Rokit RP8, Kali Audio LP-6, Focal Alphas 50, 65 and 80 and Adam A7X.Īs I wrote earlier, I liked the most Focal Alphas but there was an issue while playing piano, which unfortunately disqualified these monitors for me. My experience in this matter is just one visit in music store but in pretty good listening conditions in the quiet listening room. I am not a specialist in acoustic, studio recording and music production in general but nevertheless, I would like to write a few words about my recently purchased Neumann KH120 monitors.
